Norwich Petanque Tournament 2010 INF-FNI

Sep 3 2010

It is the site of Broadland Sun Association Ltd. who organized the 29th international tournament of INF-FNI petanque. Like always, many people installed themselves on Monday evening in their tents, caravans, motor-caravans or simply in the common tent or in a hired mobile home. Richard, the president, or Yvan, treasurer of the club, with the help from a lot of friends, marked the playgrounds, set up the festivity tents and John, with his electrical vehicle, made the shuttle to place all participants who dropped in slowly one after the other. Very soon, this place, where rabbits and squirrels normallyappreciate this calm site, was replaced by discussions, laughter and meeting of friends coming from 6 different countries knowing each other very well because they are waiting impatiently every year for this event to happen. Then the flags from United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Germany appeared. Some people decorated their tents with candles or solar lights to show the beginning of the night or for avoiding accidents but also to embellish the site that became very user-friendly. And days passed by for training or cultural visits to Norwich or Yarmouth. On Friday, the responsible met near the swimming pool for a sorting by drawing lots and 64 doubles were on the starter list for Saturday morning. The games were declared open by the representative of INFFNI, Roger VIOLA, just after the welcome speech of Angela RUSSEL, president. And up to the evening it looked like an endless ballet of ants were running over the playgrounds with laughter of joy, metal clicking and not forgetting the calls for the referee to clarify some doubtful points. Concerning the restaurant, Pearl and his crew made efforts to present the different foods and the Saturday gala was animated by a regional orchestra. On Sunday afternoon, a local team was defeated in the final round merely by another crew coming from the Netherlands. Before closing this tournament, trophies were handled over to the winners and the multiple gifts handed over to the organizer showed the satisfaction of these 200 persons that spent a pleasant week-end even if the weather conditions were not the best.At the time of writing this report, no federation has submitted a request to organize this event in 2011. A reminder will be addressed in a few weeks time.

3rd International Meeting for Naturist Families

Aug 12 2010

From Friday, 23th of July until Sunday, 1st of August, more than 400 participants from 8 federations populated the “Naturist campsite Ostsee” at Rosenfelder Strand located at the Baltic Sea, thereof 65 children and about 50 youngsters. The camp site was booked out and there were about 40 people on a standby list who could not participate. An unusual occurrence for such an event and that’s good.  The numbers of the different activities were very large and there was something for everyone:

Soccer teams, where the youngest was only 8 and the oldest was 74, very well sorted “pétangue” teams, workshops for manual activities, where elder people were able to propose their knowledge to the youngsters, who displayed their works on Saturday, different construction and lane games, round trips with bicycles or motorbikes, trips to the city of “Lübeck” and the “Hansa-Park”, games on a water slide and interesting competitions on a horizontal bungee game. There was a presentation from a circus school every evening as well as dancing initiation for “Salsa” and “Meringué”.

These activities always took place in a festival tent, where Klaus and his crew prepared barbecue and other meals for the benefit of the hungry participants. A Belgian citizen and I were accepted by him as cook for one evening. His daughter Jeannine, only 15 years old, made over 300 waffles between 19 and 23 hour every day. Her future looks promising.

A disk jockey took over for the rest of the evening for the nighthawks; it ended with a drink in the tent, bed, or at the beach for the adults at a time outside of my sleeping behavior.

I could continue with my report, but there are things that can’t be said, they must be experienced to understand that a great family met here, who is inviting you to spend 10 days of your time from the 29th of September 2011 until the 7th of August 2011 at the campsite on a plot with electricity for the modest amount of 65€ per adult and 15€ per child from 2 to 16 years. All activities are free of charge for members with a valid INF-FNI stamp. These activities are sponsored and supported by the INF-FNI for the 3rd year. You may extend your accommodation before or after the event at normal prices on simple request. Registration can be done by means of your federation, your local, regional or national responsible person or by internet at www.dfk.org and you may contact me for further information.

Language is no problem anymore because people from Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Haiti and friends from the Dominican Republic were present and they understood themselves by means of their hands or with the help of a neighbor. This is the goal of the INF-FNI to gather people all around the world. They understood each other and exchanged ideas, passions, memories and even visit cards. It’s a great feeling to belong to such a big family.

Naturisme Totaal

Dec 21 2009
On December 11, 12 and 13th, 2009, the INF-FNI participated in the first “all naturist” fair,  the Naturisme Totaal, in Utrecht, the Netherlands
There were over 8ooo visitors and the fair will be repeated again in December 2010. The INF-FNI booth was full of activity with many participants taking away brochures send to us by Federations ,holiday centers ,clubs and naturist businesses.
We were also kept busy talking to naturist resorts to encourage them to give discounts to INF-FNI cardholders. We were successful in obtaining agreements from over 15 resorts. More details regarding this will follow at a later date on the INF-FNI website.

Sieglinde Ivo, Cor van Herp and George Volak were there to represent the INF-FNI along with Micol Rossi of the Pizzo Greco resort, host of the 2010 INF-FNI Congress
